“The Prayer Pillow Ministry & How it was started”
The Prayer Pillow Ministry was formed in 2019…the fall of the year ..just before Covid was set to hit us heavily in 2020.
Following my diagnosis of breast cancer (diagnosed in 2017)…I wanted to be able to give back to the cancer center where I had received my treatments. So I began to sew pillows to take back and pass out to patients and staff at the cancer center. Little did I know that this was all a part of God’s plan for my life.
I remember it so vividly, 2 am God woke me up…wide open out of my sleep and began to share the vision with me. He took me directly to the book of Habakkuk. In the book of Habakkuk, the prophet’s heart was grieved and very heavy. Habakkuk was concerned about the conditions around him. His heart was heavily grieved about how things were going on much like today, so much chaos, killing and hatred. We experience so much of that today. So Habakkuk began to question God (not because he didn’t trust him but because he was concerned about the conditions and it seemed that God was not doing anything). We oftentimes wonder why God is allowing us to go through so much. We often want him to fix things in our timing. But God’s timing is not our timing. So the Lord begins to tell Habakkuk, basically to be still…I’ve got this! And when I fix it, everyone will know that it was “I”…The Lord God Almighty! The King of King, The Lord of Lords! Everyone will know it was the marvelous hands of God.
So, what I didn’t know was that , we were about to experience a pandemic. But God began to work with me through these pillows. As God was speaking into my spirit on that early morning when he woke me up, he began to give me divine and specific orders. The first order was to anoint my hands and pray over each pillow and the second one was to not charge anyone for a pillow. This was a true faith walk for me, just completing treatments, no job, no money saved, just my FAITH. So I began sewing these pillows day and night from my dining room table. Volunteers started coming to my house daily to help me. We started handing out pillows everywhere, not only cancer centers but to everyone everywhere who was willing to listen to my story and how God was using a simple pillow to comfort his people. People started coming back to share their testimonies and it has been a true blessing just to be able to serve.
I soon realized that God just wants a willing vessel. He wants us to be obedient and do what he has called us to do. Again, I repeat, I was just out of treatments with no job and no money saved. But the word of God declares in Philippians 4:19
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”
God has proven this to me over and over again since 2019. God started sending people to donate to our ministry. People donate fabric, polyfil , thread, sewing machines and monetary gifts to our organization. Not one time since 2019 have we been without fabric or anything to sew pillows. God just wanted to prove to me that HE is the Great I AM and He will do just what he said he would do.
We are now a 501c3 nonprofit organization and we are no longer at my dining room table. We are now located in Maplesville next to the laundromat at

We deliver to cancer centers, dialysis clinics, Elderly and senior homes, homeless & shelters, orphanages , Veterans and so many more.
And most of all we have shipped and delivered pillows all across the world. We have been able to partner with other organizations who have taken our pillows to Peru, Romania, the Ukranian border, Africa and places we never would have ever imagined.
We do not sell our pillows. We are nonprofit so we operate solely on fundraisers and donations..
We welcome volunteers anytime. You do not need to know how to sew. There’s so many other things that come along with the process.
